The Port Hedland Iron Project (formerly known as the Port Hedland Green Steel Project) is being developed with POSCO (Korea), Marubeni (Japan), and China Steel Corporation (Taiwan) – with POSCO being the major partner and Project leader. The joint venture participants have a proven track record in Australia, with investments in iron ore, energy, critical minerals, coking coal, aluminum, salt, and other resources.
Australia, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan are all signatories to net zero emissions by 2050 providing a common goal to develop pathways to decarbonise steel making.
The Project is being executed through Port Hedland Iron Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of POSCO.
